Soldier Mountain in Idaho for Sale - Page 2

Location, location, location!

For a ski area that is a place with:

good terrain

good weather- lots of natural snow that preserves well with winter weather that is often comfortable to ski in

easily accessible to a lot of people with disposable $

The above is what makes certain resorts more popular and financial successful.

Soldier Mountain will be open 2015-16 with new owners.  The non-profit board chose a couple from Oregon out of 2000 bids.  It wasn't a matter of price, which was fixed at $149,000.  The new owners grew up skiing and are avid back country skiers, but have never been to Soldier before.  Wish them luck!

Very nice article since it's an interview with the new owners.  The couple clearly loves what they are doing.

The new owners were lucky with snowfall for their first season.  Took until Feb until they got the permits to allow the snow cat operation to start.  The next time I head to Sun Valley, I think a day at Soldier Mtn would be fun.
