Congratulations to Peter Sagan on one hec of a finish to win the race.  All I could say is wow.  I couldn't believe the last 1k.  He is a cycling machine.

Two other friends and I went to Richmond for the race - it was a whole lot of fun to see those guys in person and experience the competition. Peter Sagan killed it on the last cobblestone climb and put the field away. You don't appreciate how intense those guys are on TV. We hung out at a high speed downhill corner and it was amazing. Kind of like standing on the rail at the Daytona 500.

On the Friday evening before the final they opened up the course to registered riders to try their luck on the 10 mile loop. I can tell you that last 17% climb is no joke. It was raining when we went up and people were falling left and right. I geared down and got up out of the saddle only to have my back wheel slip out from under me. The second lap was better, I stayed in the lowest gear and kept seated, grinding it out. The Richmond locals were cheering and drinking the whole time. Most fun I've ever had on a bike.

And the trip bonus?

Bob Roll was very generous with his time btw, cool guy. An awesome weekend.
