Triceps tendon repair

I tore my triceps tendon in an unremarkable fall, while skiing in January.  Figured whatever was wrong would heal over time.  I was wrong.  Just had surgery on 9/22.  Out for at lest 3 months.  :(  Totally bummed about missing the first 7 weeks of the season.  Most people wonder why I bother to even ski in November... it's to get ready for January after a long layoff.  Now I'm going to miss that opportunity to work on fundamentals early in the season.  I'm hoping to be skiing by 12/15.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Bill, I'm in the same boat, different body part. I had my perineal tendon repaired on 9/9. I plan to be back on snow 12/9. However, I view early season as nothing special and my recuperation will give me time to do some other things (once I'm off crutches). I've been studying lots of skiing -- hopefully that will help!

Best wishes on your recovery.

Thanks Mike.  I wish you a speedy recovery as well.  I am taking advantage of the down time by working on my diet.  Weight has always been an issue for me so I've made a commitment to dropping 30 pounds by the time I'm back on the slopes.  Hell, weighing less will likely boost my skiing abilities!

Absolutely!  And make sure you are hitting the gym to retain and gain as much strength as possible.
