WTB - All mountain skis for my 13 year old son.

Looking for some decent used All Mountain ski's for my 13 year old son.   He's Probably 5'6" 155lbs.   Maybe 160.   He's getting to be a big kid.  Very strong legs.   I'm think he could ski an adult ski at this point.

Sizing charts are showing me he should be in a mid 160 length this year.   I think he could go 170 at this point.

hi Focker,

I have a pair of older blackeyes if you are interested and you think he'd use them.

The skis are now dated tech wise (i.e. camber and not rocker), and were considered all-mountain and Mid-wide when made, but would be considered frontside only as  apparently it's impossible to ski off-piste skis less than 90+mm now.

Make me an offer,

Shipping will be $30?  (or whatever it costs)

What are the dimensions on those ray?

He can definitely ski adult skis and I'm not sure you'd find suitable kids skis at his weight. The Kastle LX82 is a great all mountain ski for teens if you are looking for something not powder oriented but well suited for an annual western trip. You might get 2 seasons out of the 172 - that ski is light enough to ski a little long without folding as he gets heavier, assuming of course he is comfortable with a longer ski now. The 164 would be good for this season at 5'6", but that would probably be it.

I think I'll pass on these as I'm looking for something a bit longer and with a little rocker in the front if possible.  Thanks for the offer though.

Focker, see if you can find a pair of last year's Nordica Soul Riders. If money isn't an issue, look at this year's. He could ski the 169. Mount it +2 from the classic mount to help 'shorten' the feel of the ski this season. Next season when he's in bigger boots and a bit heavier, just slide the heel piece back and he'll be boot center over the classic mount still spot on.

Wow 97 underfoot is a bit much for us here in MN marz...   Would be nice on the MT trip though.  I'm thinking a 80-85 would work well for him with some rocker hopefully.  Make it easier to break them free when need be.

Look at the LX82. I have a son who uses them all mountain in CO. Good deals can be had used or demo, and that is a quality adjustable binding (K12 typically).
