I'm still pretty focused on winding down the surfing and windsurfing season here in Northern Michigan but my thoughts are starting to drift to white stuff.
The weather forecasts are all over the map.
NOAA says El Nino will bring us a warmer than usual season with normal precipitation.
The Farmer's Almanac is calling for more arctic cold.
My instinct is that it is likely to be a highly variable season.
The windsurfing season on Maui, the Gorge and N. California was totally abnormal with pitiful wind.
It wasn't much in Michigan either.
There is no such thing as normal weather anymore so I'm thinking the ski season is in for a wild ride.
Since I live only a few miles from Nubs and Boyne Highlands, I can pick the good ones on short notice.
It is not so easy for travelers who book in advance.
So, I just appointed myself the Epic Northern Michigan weather reporter.
I'll try to give some useful info about how it is happening Up North.
