Will (hopefully) be hitting Hintertux in a month for season start-up with my 2nd year U14 girl (13 years old yesterday!!!). So far she's always been on GS skis when "free riding". I use "" because she has not really been outside the groomers (or race course) so up til now always on race skis.
Start-up camp is free riding only (no gates at all) and me was thinking maybe getting her a pair of all mountain skis. Was thinking 80ish waist. Anyone who has been there and done that caring to share their experiences? Normal womens skis (like my wifes K2 Luv-something...) just seems very noodly compared to what my daughter skis on, should I get a manly ski?
She's ca 157-158 cm and 50 kgs and as a reference she's skiing 165 Dynastar Team Course R20 in GS, 146 Rossi Hero in SL and 186 Rossi in SG and uses a 70 flex Lange JR race boot at the moment (last season), but will try a Lange (Rossi) 90 flex this season and prob'y move to 170 in GS.
Edit. Not Rossi in GS, it's Dynastar, but exactly the same ski from Rossistar Race Dept with one metal layer. Only paint differs. Forgot that we had to replace the Hero's mid season last year.
