You posted it here, Epic is a global market. If you wanted to keep it just regional you could have but YOU chose to air your laundry here, open game. As someone who had a pass at Killington for 5 or so years when I was back east, yes I would say I have an opinion on it. Yes, the rules might have been followed when you did the prior year one, it does not mean that Killington could not change them. It is their property, they can decided what happens there. As I edited the post after you quoted it..you might have followed the letter of the law, does not mean you followed the spirit of it.
Regardless, thats not the point of this thread - which is that Killington has a major problem with with the age of it's lifts.
The question was asked about why I am critical of Killington's management, and i answered - they greatly disrespected a group that contributes to the community, by stringing them along with a list of BS excuses why they couldn't hold their large BBQ. When the REAL valid reasons were obvious to everyone involved. Had they just come out and said,"Hey, your BBQ, it's too big, too much of a distraction, and competes too much with the mountain's business, it's not in the spirit of tailgating", people would have accepted that and moved on. But they DIDN'T SAY that.
Hence, I will no longer cut Killington's management slack, since I lost all respect for them in how they handled this situation.
Back to the original topic of the thread, please.
So you don't agree with the answer or you realize that it might be correct, you want to change the subject. Then you still will toss another jab in so it can continue. You say "sour grapes" to Steamboat1, it sounds like you still have sour grapes with this event. Killington does not owe you an explanation on why they will not allow your festival, they just need to say "Because we said so" plus the reason was pretty damn obvious.
Sorry that you disagree with the way Powdr is running the mountain. You have three choices. 1) Suck it up and ski there. 2) Ski somewhere else 3) buy it from them and run it the Highway Star way.
