Telemark ski racing

I'm thinking about ski racing for my school this year but I am a telemark skier. I don't to have to buy a whole new set of boots bindings and skis. Do you think it's possible to just put telemark bindings on racing skis and race? And if so what skis would be good for this?

it is possible but be prepared to come in last in every race.  I too am a telemark skier but I would only race tele against other tele skiers.   or as the saying goes" horses for courses"

Use the right tools for the job.  you might just like it.   Tele turns have a special feel, I know. I get it.  but so does  clean carving a race ski.  no other feeling like it.

you can usually pick up older race skis for dirt cheap. at least here in Utah for much less than Tele gear.

Most teley racing is done on some sort of race ski. In this day and age, is everyone using NTN?

Being as this is school racing, are there equipment requirements? We never did a school circuit, which is why I don't know.

...and you'll want a releasable teley set up... hooking a tip is a killer without one.
