I drove up after work on Monday, skied Tues/Wed/Thursday and I thought it was fabulous conditions for this early in the season. Tuesday was COOOOLD. Rolled into town Mon night and it was 3 degrees F. Tuesday was bluebird but pretty stankin' cold....-6 deg at the top WITHOUT the wind chill, and it was VERY windy at the top on Tuesday.
8 degrees warmer on Wednesday and no wind. Perfect conditions.
Even warmer Thursday, but not too warm, and again, bluebird day.
Snow was soft everywhere! :-)
Chair 9 was closed all week. Just as well. It's really bony if they open it without enough cover.
Dave's was really nice, Climax skied well. I didn't ski the chutes off of 23 because it was all boneyard at the top. Really couldn't get in too easily. I'll wait until it gets a little more pack at the lip. Too early in the season for a core shot.
High Five was really nice...did a lot of laps there. Had to watch for some rocks, but that applies everywhere off piste right now.
Backside skied well. Still some fresh tracks to be made off the groomers. The trees to skiers left of Secret Spot were really nice.
Overall a really great three days to start my season!
Going back up to ski Jan 5/6/7. Anyone going to be around then? I'll be solo and would love some company! PM me if you're interested!
Let the stoke begin!!!
