A-basin vs. A-Basin/Keystone Season Pass

Thread Starter

Both season passes currently are going for $299 and will probably go up after Labor Day (Basin/Keystone for sure) and I am thinking of purchasing one or the other.

A-Basin, I believe, is unrestricted while the Basin/Keystone pass has some restrictions over holidays - during times I would probably avoid the resorts (unless for social reasons).

Anyone have any thoughts on which would be a better value (perks, other resorts comps, etc.)

I am a 60+ expert skier (30+ years skiing, former ski bum & instructor), kids all grown (no need for family "amenities"), have skied both - probably prefer A-Basin for terrain, but like variety and Keystone is bigger. No great need for night skiing, unless again, for social reasons.

I will probably be local to the Denver-Boulder area this winter and have already purchased the Copper/Winter Park RMSP+ pass so this would be an add on. I do plan to ski at least 30 days this coming season.

Just wondering what the local preference is - just A-Basin or the A-Basin/Keystone combo pass?

Thanks for any input.

Isn't the answer easy? Since you already have the RMSP, you're covered for any blackout days. Get the keystone pass!

At the same price I don't know why there is a decision to make. Why not give yourself the option for Keystone?

I have the ABay/Keystone pass as well as the Copper Pass.  I went to Keystone maybe 3-4 days this past year, fun.  Just another good option for little to no extra $.  And variety is good sometimes.

The other differences would be that the ABasin-only pass has 3 days at Taos and an unguided at Silverton, and half-price tickets to Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood. Don't know if those make any difference or not to you.
