How does the 2015 Fischer Ranger 88 TI compare to the 96 TI

I own the 2015 Fischer Ranger 88 TI that a friend of mine really likes (he borrowed them a few times). However, he would like a bit wider ski, such as the 96 TI. Demoing will be impossible: Fischer will bring their new Ranger line, which is a completely different ski. Moreover, the 2015 Rangers go for almost nothing right now.

So: if one really likes the 88 TI, can he simply buy the 96 TI and love them as much? Or are they too different in feel and behaviour?

Oops, can someone fix the typo in the title? Spelled Fischer wrong...

They are very different in feel. The Ranger is more of a finesse ski, light weight and playful along the lines of say a Blizzard Bushwacker. The Motive 96 is much more powerful and solid yet not overpowering for a competent skier. If he wants wider and is married to the feel of his Ranger 88, maybe the new Ranger 98 is the call.

Sorry, @Philpug but I meant the Ranger 88 and the Ranger 96 (it's wider brother). If this wasn't clear enough, my bad.

That the Ranger and Motive series are very different, that's something I'm well aware off.
