Is it true that the three new lifts in MT this year are all going in at Snowbowl?

Given the Stage II fire restrictions in most NW counties, I don't know how they can get any work done this summer.

I have not been up to the bowl recently, however, last fall when I talked to the owner about the time table, he said it would be a couple years before the first lift would go in. Last I heard they had one lift in their possession. It would be a miracle of Biblical proportions if they put them all in, in a single year.

I am planning on going up Friday to put in my season pass work trade off application. If I see the mountain manager, I'll get the latest on the expansion progress.

Today I spoke to Andy Morris, son of owner Brad Morris, up at Snowbowl. The expansion plans are proceeding, however they most certainly will not have any lifts in this year.  They have possession of two chairlifts (one on the property, and one in town), and plan to put the first one in next summer. They will likely be working on cutting runs on TV Mountain this fall. This doesn't mean they expect to have it completed next year.

It occurs to me, as I looked back at Steve Turner's post, that I was trolled into posting!  The villainy!

Edit: I suppose it was yesterday actually.

Did you happen to hear where the two lifts came from?

They can't leave you alone.

Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in.

I forgot to ask where the lifts came from, but I do know that they are fixed grip doubles.  I'll inquire further when I talk to the mountain manger, I'll be seeing him this fall.

My prediction is that the two chairs will be up within five years, maybe.

One other interesting thing I saw when I went up there, was that the deck of Snowbowl Lodge has been removed, and a foundation has been laid to extend the locker room into what used to be firewood storage under the deck.
