2015 Retro Ski Wish List - Anyone Post here - Page 11

FREE!
This is my first post, but not fake.
Not sure if anyone wants these, but I have a pair of brand new, still in plastic Hexcel split tails with mounting set. I believe they are 203. There's a small bit of rash on one ski, I guess from storage. Anyway, I just want to get rid of them and give them to someone who wants them instead of throwing them away. If you pay for shipping I'll send them to you or pick them up in Los Angeles.

Nice!

Thanks for posting. Installation kit - and skis too- you won't see often today. Heck you might have the only remaining existing in both categories!

Pretty sure that was the last of the HEXCEL name used on a ski, the year of that graphic and split tail, went to Hanson the next year. Just guessing here.

I have a bunch of old skis.  The skis on the rafters in my basement are the older skis but they don't get in the way of anything.  The skis at my house in central Oregon are taking up garage space that I could use for something else.

Nothing there is wonderful.  Should I just take them to the dump to be rid of them?

those are pretty decent.  i'd be interested in the white Atomic 205 and the binding on the Rossi 4S.  the Atomic Red Sled is the only somewhat "valuable" one of the bunch but looks like a 200, which I have in that size (or is it a 203?  - if so, i'd be interested).  the others look sub- 200, which diminishes the interest, at least for me.  although that Snow Ranger looks pretty cool and there are some Volant lovers out there.  If the binding on the Snow Ranger is high DIN Racing, i'd love to have that, too (just the binding).  what is the ski turned sideways, in front of the Atomics, with the M46 binding?

I'd pay for the shipping on the above if you'd be willing to arrange.  I'd be much obliged, and we'd keep these out of a landfill.  if so, thanks.

i have to ask, what are the "older skis" in your rafters?!

The Hexcels are gone. Can a mod adjust my post? Thanks.

It'd be a shame to separate the Snow Rangers from the bindings. They go nicely together.

Hmm chubbs and Fischer XC skis catch my eye. The 4SKs look eminently skiable. Is that a set of P10RS in the back? Logo is yellow not black but there's hoping.

I have a few answers and I will get some more the next time I visit the skis. The Snow Rangers at 200 cm. ,the Chubbs at 190 cm and some Dynastar SF Speed at 198 are the only skis that are not longer  than 200 cm.  The xc skis were not supposed to be in the picture as I sometimes use them when there is snow on the golf course.  The skis turned sideways are Volkl Explosiv RS 207 or 208.  The red Volkl is an SP9 that does not have a mate because I sawed it in half to make a boot removal tool.  Barely visible in the back corner are a pair of Olin Mark VI Slalom 210 cm.

I assume that skis with names engraved on them are not of interest to collectors.

In light of apparent interest, I will post further information as I get it assembled.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should state that I have very little interest in removing bindings from skis.  When I installed bindings, I always epoxied the screws so I do not think that they will be that easy to remove.  Besides, even at my age, I have better things to do.

that's a pretty good stash!  you have good taste in skis...

yeah, leave the bindings on.

i'd be interested in both Atomics, the white ones and the red sleds.  others will like those Volkls and the (James Bond) Olin, I'm sure.

btw, engraved names are not a big deal (to me and most others).  is what it is.  that was the custom of the day.  can use a paint pen to hide mostly if desired.

Thanks, @thevulture, for posting here.  Arrived safely. The skis are pristine and the scrape is of no concern. Sorry, @Lowell Watson, I owe you one  :)

I used to have a pair of those Kastle made Pure Golds in a 207.  I used to work for Stein himself and he was throwing away in the early 90's.  I asked if I can have them, he said sure.  I found a newer pair of Marker M46's in the shop, mounted them up.  Perfect Deer Valley ski. I loved them!  My first trip to Colorado (Breckenridge), they were stolen within 10 minutes unattended (had to stop for a Rumplemintz hot chocolate).  Had to rent a pair of K2 Fours for the rest of the trip.

That's some bad karma for someone!

I came across an old guy that said he has a 1964 pair of Head GS skis and he said they are 210 CM.  It has an old Marker toe with a cable heel.  Sorry no photos yet but I have no use for them and if you are willing to pay shipping from NJ I maybe able to send them your way.  Send me a PM if you are interested.

HI

Do you still have these skis available or did you take them to the dump? I live in Bend and would gladly take them off your hands.

Thank you

Tiff

 Hi Tiff,

Welcome to Epic.

You'll need to go to the post you are asking about and click the Quote button, then ask your question as we don't know which skis you are talking about.

Ok thank you,  I didn't know what I was doing.....I think i've done it correctly now?  I suppose my next task will be to learn how to post.

Tiff--The skis are still there but I am not.  I will be there from time to time once the ski season starts.  If you would like to send me your phone number by private message, I could call you and arrange a time for you to take possession sometime this winter.  Several pair of skis belong to my son and I will need to make sure that he is OK with getting rid of them.

Haven't noticed this thread.

Here's a question: Anyone have a pair of Rossignol ST Comps from, like, the mid-70s that he or she wants to get rid of?

Packing and shipping cost as much as the skis lol.
I have the ST Comps, have to check length.
Not sure about parting with them yet

Sorry, I still ski mine when the conditions are right. If you are in Summit County, CO and have a size 9ish foot, you are welcome to take them for a spin.

It's not for me. It's for a friend, whose roommate abandoned them when my friend moved to Iowa.  The landlady sold them at a church bazaar. (We drove all the way from Iowa to find that out.)

I didn't ski at the time, but he was quite a shredder, or so he said. Now I ski, and he doesn't — bad knees, apparently.

I find ST's at the transfer stations here in New England. Fairly common around here. I suggest you try a few local dumps. If still no joy, what length are you looking for? The kid and I are hitting our ski hot spots this weekend and will keep an eye out.

I guess length isn't an issue, since he's not likely to ski them. This is just a wild impulse. Don't mind me. :)

Hi everyone,

I am looking any model of undrilled VOLKL skis from the 1980's and 1990's era.

Will pay handsomely!

And the longer, the better!  LOL.

Thanks!

I just picked up a pair of K2 Merlin lV's, 193cm.
These aggressively side cut shaped skis will be a nice addition to my Shaped Quiver.
What can you guys suggest are other "collectable" shaped ski stand outs?
Thanks
