Was a bit worried driving up LCC on Monday morning, rain rain rain, then just before the Bird the temp gauge in the truck struck 32 and that rain turned to snow! whew. nice suprise to be greeted with about 8 fresh inches ( and that snow continued into the afternoon) - the big A opened Catherines pretty early and the snow under Supreme was damn good! (glad i brought my fatties) we lost a buddy in that area for a while who got cliffed out and had to hike to safety.... but we located him unharmed thankfully. lift lines were a bit crazy for a while but thinned out in the afternoon. another poor viz day on the mountain but i'm used to that.
it was in the 50's most of last winter in the SLC Valley but i still managed to locate good conditions on the mountains more times than not - lets get this warm stuff moved out and the storm systems cranking again!!!!!!!!
Micro-climates can be confusing for travelers going some place for the first time but definitely can lead to lots of fun for optimists!
