I am planning to take my daughter who will be 7 next month to Colorado to ski for her first time. I am planning on Flying into Denver on January 16th and skiing starting the 17th through 22nd. She is a very good skier so easy stuff is not a concern for us. We are comfortable on all the blues and most of the black runs. We typically ski groomers and hike to terrain and other off piste stuff will not be a major issue if terrain isn't open. If it snows enough we might try some more challenging terrain however if it is groomers all week we won't be mad
Our current plan is to get in town on 16th and get settled not sure if we do a vrbo or hotel. We plan to get the summit value pass and ski at Abasin, breck and keystone and take any additional days after first three where we liked the best. I plan to ski 6 days straight. It seems at $489 that if I get 6 days it would be better than buying a lift ticket at window or even a liftopia deal. Only debate is spend the extra $120 and get epic local to ski Vail and Beavercreek as well. Currently I am thinking of getting lodging in Frisco. Seems like the best spot especially if we upgrade to hit Vail. The only black out dates on pass seems to be on the day we get in and don't plan on skiing anyway. It seems like buying the season pass is a no brainer with lift tickets running $100 at these resorts?
Does anyone have recommendations on where to ski on that Sunday with it being a holiday weekend to avoid crowds? Typically where I ski on the Monday holidays crowds tend to die down mid day. I was thinking of hitting abasin or keystone as some here have stated in past crowds aren't as bad.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I was considering just spending more and flying into Aspen but it seems like lift ticket prices are much higher and for $299 my daughter can ski 6 days at any Vail resort.
