Maybe it's summer, or maybe it's me being frisky.
But NO WAY at 5"11", 275 (even) are you ANYWHERE in shape enough to ski athletically down a run. I don't care WHO you are. Let's be realistic.
I flat GUARANTEE you have an inflated idea of yourself and your skiing, which is surprising considering you are already on a crossfit "program".
Take this from EXPERIENCE people.....I was 5'10", 265. Thought I was not "fat" but just "heavy".
You know what? I was fat. That's bullshit. I was SUPER fat. I'm now 210-215 and you know what? I'm still a fat ass.
My skiing? It checks out just fine. I've been "vetted" by the powers that be that run this site. I can turn a ski.
I've seen a "cross section" of members on here that think they can ski. They Can't.
So, my point is this--
1. Good for you for getting into crossfit. It's the single best thing you can do to improve yourself as a human being physically...and I would argue spiritually and mentally as well. It gets you where you need to be to open yourself up.
2. Increase your mobility.
3. Ski NARROWER skis, not wider. No, I'm not talking about skinny skis from the 80's people. I'm talking about reasonable width skis that will allow you to learn how to make a turn effectively. And you know what? the best skiers STILL turn like that. Racers and the best big mountain skiers alike aren't the whole "steezy on the tails sloppy turn" skiing bullshit we see encouraged here.
4. Spend your money on good instruction...or gas to go skiing more.
