Sweet day at TSV today! Got there early for a new boot appointment. Charlie at Boot Doctors hooked me up and now I'm a Lange guy. Skied Al's to check 'em out (though not top to bottom, not quite in shape for that). They're more upright with a much higher ramp angle than my Fischers so that gave me some weird balance moments throughout the day, hopefully I'll get used to that soon.
Didn't make it to Kachina in time for fresh tracks but skied some very lovely crud under the chair. That bit right at the bottom was money.
Skied the next three runs with a guy from Santa Fe. We hit K? which was good but not as good as that chair run so we did that one then headed over to Hunziker's as I was looking to check it out for the first time. Not sure what we skied but the main bit was a chute (I think it was the one furthest to skier's right) with a whole lot of futzing required to get there...it did ski pretty well though. After that I followed while he stayed high on a traverse. As we were getting to our destination a patroller was shouting at us to turn around. The pitch were were about to get to had just slid and they were searching. When we got back to K chair they had stopped loading in order to clear the crowd for that operation and a 'multi broken bone extraction'. Sounded like a good time for lunch and boot tweeks. A few afternoon bump runs and my legs called it a day. Pretty much linguine by then.... thought I'd stop before they reached spaghetti status.
Everybody remember this comment next time you or someone you know complains about patrol closing terrain after a big storm.
