Binding recommendation for Blizzard Magnum 8.0 ti

Thread Starter

Blizzards, not Rossis, sorry.   I just picked up a pair of these in a 172cm.  I usually ski on a pr of 180 Bonafides, with the STH 14 binding, but I was looking for a shorter, lighter ski.  (i'm 5'9', about 225.  strong level 7 ).

I'm considering either the Pivot/FKS 14 or another sth.

any other suggestions.  thanks

Mod note: changed from Rossi to Blizzard in thread title

What DIN do you need?

Most all binding manufactures are making great stuff these days. Solly, Look/Rossi, Head, Tyrolias, Marker are all solid manufactures. As long as it fits the waist and you DIN doesn't max it out you're most likely in good shape.

FYI the Canadian online store Corbetts has last seasons Pivot 14s for cheap (~$150US) with free shipping.

currently, mine are set to 9.  I'm thinking the 12 might be good enough.  thx

I just picked up a pair of these also in a 165.  I am beyond excited.  I have a wider ski for mixed conditions/powder but wanted a front side ski for the icy/hard pack days.

I am thinking of getting these

Ski essentials has a few 90mm bindings that look good.

I am a huge fan of tyrolia bindings but the one you mentioned is only 88mm.  I thought the rule of thumb was 10mm over the ski waist width.  Is this close enough?

The 88 brake you mention will be absolutely fine for your 80mm skis. If you need to bend them a bit (which I doubt you will), that's no big deal either if you really want the extra 2mm... or even more.

Just bought bindings for my Magnums.

http://www.corbetts.com/2015-look-spx-12-black-chrome-b90/

Canadian price $137.99; after the exchange rate the price is $104.72. No tax and free shipping.

Set up total cost

$110 skis

$104 bindings

$214 total ski cost.  I may buy new ski boots this year so if so they'll likely mount the bindings for free.

Nice.

I went with the 8.5.

Skis were $135

Look Pivot 14 $135

Plus they match to boot. Pretty much the same colors.
