Count 'em off! Who's coming? Sign up and let us know.
The roll call serves a few purposes. It lets the people on the fence see that their friends are coming, get excited, and decide to attend. It lets new members get a sense of what kind of people are going to be there. And it lets me estimate how many guides we are going to need, and for what kind of terrain.
Notations of "tentative", "TBD" or ~ before a number are fine at this point. You can replace them with definite info as it becomes available. (But if you have your dates, just put them down!)
The dates you list should be skiing dates -- don't include non-skiing arrival/departure days.
If you have a non-member coming with you, just list them as "friend of X" or something similar.
Don't stress too much about the ability level -- mainly we just want to count intermediates and count advanced through experts.
For the interemediates, I do want to know if you are interested in the "expedition to push yourself on terrain" (Snowmass Cirque or similar) that I described here: http://www.epicski.com/t/141729/the-2016-epicski-gathering-at-aspen-colorado-in-early-february/120#post_1895596 It'll be fun, and something to talk about in the bar afterward.
So intermediates should list themselves as "INT" or "INT-cirque".
The advanced through expert skiers form a spectrum, but they all want to ski black and double black steeps, trees, or bumps. They just do it with more or less confidence. style, or speed, and for part or all of the day. But we can divvy up in real-time at the morning meetup. So you guys should list yourselves as Advanced or Expert or just "AE" if you are shy about grading yourself. I lean towards an easy grading scale for "expert" -- you don't have to be the mythical Epicski Expert that we have argued into non-existence in so many threads.
The other piece of info that would help me is whether you plan to hike Highland Bowl. I suspect most of the AE's with healthy joints, and maybe a few INT-cirque's will hike, but I'm sure there will be a few who can't or just don't want to. Note that on the hike day, we will split up by hiking speed, not by ability -- I'll be in the slowest group.
And finally, at the end of your line you can put anything else you think is relevant, as long as it fits on your line.
So for example, the list might look something like this:
- Gathermeister | 2/3-2/9 | Expert | hike
- Imaginary friend | 2/4-2/6 | INT-c | no hike | random blather
- Another Member | 2/3-2/9 | AE | hike
and so on....
The reall roll-call starts in the next post.
Cut and paste tends to work better than the quote button for these things.
