Just in time to satisfy my gear addiction. Enjoy, fellow addicts...

Ah, the fix. Didn't realize that the new FX's and BMX's now have elliptical sidecuts, like all the other lines. So much for the argument of needing a single radius to enhance stability in variable.

Well, a circle is also an ellipse, whereas very few ellipses are circles!

First I'd heard of the CPM,

Looks like they're responding to top-sheet delicacy issues, too -- at least in the FX I looked at.

The CPM reminds me of my K2 Amp Rictor 82xti. Both are cap skis, have round tails and have almost the same dimensions on the tip and tail. Both have 2 sheets of metal and a layer of carbon fiber. Or, maybe a beefed up LX? I wonder if anyone has tested it.

CPM is a beefed up LX. IIRC, some carbon laminates were added. We tested them in Copper but they only had smaller sizes. They ski like the LX, one of misunderstood skis because of the cap construction. I didn't feel enough difference from the LX to the CPM but I in fairness, didn't ski the same size back to back.

Based on the topsheet chipping I've seen on other skis I grabbed a file and put my own bevel on the topsheet edges.  Seems to work (touch wood).

I've always been curious on why Kastle top sheets apparently chip so easily. I know it's just cosmetic, and certainly isn't stopping me from buying a pair for the upcoming season. Just curious.

Phil,  I'm thinking about the CPM.  I'm still not sure I will be able to get a demo this winter.  Would you consider it a decent front side ski for Copper?   I wonder if you happened to ski Revenge, Collage, or Andy's Encore with it and your impressions.  I've never skied an LX so I can't compare.  I'm also considering the Laser AX.  I wish I had just bought the AX when I was at the Start Haus in April.

Thanks
