Thanks, that's what I figured.  It was pretty warm there last weekend.  But I'm glad I checked out spring conditions there and definitely had fun.

The rivers are rapidly rising and there is a whole lot of melting going on.
If you ski early in the morning and kayak that afternoon, it's kind of like recycling.

Major melt-off since last Sunday at A Basin.  Almost hike-able.

Amazing how much snow they moved since Wednesday, to get a ski-able corridor lower down..

So today, the last Friday, was just another slarvy day at the Bay.   A verrrry narrow way - but not rocks so much.

(It should get interesting by Sunday, but still worth it, by Crackers.)

10-2 was all I could take. Amazing how much melted out in a week!

Looking forward to tomorrow, even if it means sticking a fork in the season

T-Rex sighted, closing out the 15/16 season at A-Basin...

Huh... I'd have figured T-Rex for a skier, but I guess it's hard to use poles with those stubby arms.

Nice closing shots at A Basin!  It was a beautiful weekend, for the most part.  Yesterday was barbeque day at Copper with friends.  There were some spots up top that still looked good and judging by the tracks others thought so too.  I have a feeling that there will be a trip for some to Mt. Massive for some hiking/hucking.  Today we got stuck in the thunderstorms on top of WP.  Eventually we were able to catch a bus down from Sunspot.

@NayBreak are you getting smoked out?  It was pretty bad yesterday but not as bad as all the lightning damage from a few days ago.

Decent smoke yesterday until some westerlies in the afternoon pushed it east.  We were on the very edge of the worst of it a couple of days ago.  It went from nothing to an instant wall of crazy hail (because we had just planted the season's flowers, like every year after planting), but were spared the worst of lightening.

My house sits down just a bit compared to the neighbors and we have tall trees all around us, so typically big local strikes are at those slightly higher spots.  We had a neighbor's tree take a big hit a few years ago and had to call the fire dept since it was smoking, and other yards have visible strikes in some of the trees, but none of mine.  Same reason I always had crap Verizon cell phone service... :)

Are any of those folks on skis or a board?

yep  as @MastersRacer said.  Definitely both in both areas.  @MastersRacer Clear Creek volume, flow, and level are now way down.  We have moved on to the CO for rafting.  A bit more of a drive.

Very nice!  Haven't been over there yet.   We did go up to 8 and hiked over to *I think* contest bowl?   Up the dirt road and path if you keeping heading up to the right from the chair.  I was surprised to see others up there.  Other than that all of my skiing has been indoors.  Working with an instructor from BC on my mostly lame carving technique.

Here is something that might interest you.  They are building one of those outdoor year round synthetic ski hills in Castle Rock.

Rafting has been awesome.

Better late than never: Finally did something with the rest of my 2015/16 season footy...

Wrapping up at A-Basin...

Looks like snow on Pikes Peak today. http://denver.cbslocal.com/2016/08/12/summer-snow-falls-overnight-on-pikes-peak/

Maybe time for a 16-17 Weather thread? Maybe I just didn't see it....

Hey @NayBreak , are you going to start the 2016-17 thread?  When I see it, I'll lock this one with a link to the new one.
