Yep, since I have committed to the west and bought the Powder Alliance AND Collective passes - that probably insure another great winter in the East.

Pete, Dano and Maineac need to coordinate their road trip schedules and form a caravan.  Strength in numbers, economies of scale, etc.  Rotate designated driver job.:D

I was thinking that we should have one on going trip report thread for the 3 of us. I think we are each planning a 4-6 week ski trip.

It sounds like Pete and I will cross paths at the Aspen Gathering and perhaps prior to that in SLC. Not sure yet if we will encounter Maineac on our travels but we should keep in touch.

Sounds like a solid plan.  Thinking my journey will be about a bakers dozen in weeks.

The powder-oriented skiers in northern Vermont did not consider last year a great winter because snowfall was below average.  It was a great winter for the snowmaking dependent areas due to cold temperatures and a 2+ month stretch with no rain.

It was a good winter because we did not get the rain and we had an extended period of cold-like from early January on so snow conditions remained good-kind of Colorado like in terms of snow.  Lots of snow on the coast.  Probably the most ever on Mount Desert Island and I was able to take advantage of it for a weekend.

There was no snowmaking where I was skiing and it was pretty darn good.

Received my Stevens Pass season pass in the mail today and have my Mt. Collective barcode voucher so  preparations are under way.  It is hard to think skiing now as we are SMOKE bound from Fires everywhere.  Still thinking of powder skis for this year.  I have S7's but don't like the "I am always back" feeling so looking at Praxis on line today BUT ??????

Thinking I will wait and see what the weatherman brings on leaving early and skiing SLC before the gathering or after, whatever, sorta depends on snow.
