Lot of Americans also don't understand the difference between yelling during freethrows at a basketball game, and yelling during serves.  They need to kick a few people out to tighten things up a bit.

A few years ago the crowd may have gotten to him, so athletically the crowd made for a neat mental display on his part.

One other big story was the one-handed backhands back in the finals, and one of the physically weaker women's singles players beating Williams with touch and by moving her feet so that the final was between two skinny Italians.  Statistically one-handers will be gone in a few years as they're gone from the junior ranks, but then probably make their way back because of the shotmaking advantages.

I don't think most of the attendees of the final of a major are in this category...

Well, if it is intentional boorish behavior rather than ignorant drunken boorish behavior, all the more reason to kick a few people out. A lot of people are there for corporate entertainment and don't want to have to explain why they got ushered out, so they could clean it up quickly.

Sounds to me like it was a lot more than a few people, but I wasn't there.
