Based on a bunch of reading around here -- mostly @Philpug 's thoughts -- I just ordered some El Capos in 177. $120 shipped to my door.

I demoed Bonefide's in 180 last year and really liked how damp and positive they felt in cruddy conditions. Hoping these are similar as I just couldn't drop the $$$ on the Bones.

They also make for nice ~20mm width spacing in my quiver:

- Fischer Watea 84mm @ 172cm: Early season, family cruising, drills, bumps. They feel like ballet slippers.

- Nordica El Capo 107mm @ 177cm (supposedly more like a 181 actual): Everyday, crud, <6" of fresh

- Black Diamond Megawatt 128mm @ 185: Days of >6" and light touring.

For reference: I'm 6'2", 165-170lbs, advanced not expert, ski ~30 days a year at Loveland in CO, everywhere on the mountain (from steep bumps a la OTR, bowls off the Ridge, trees)
