I'm starting to really value the hairs I have left, but it might be worth shaving just for this:

The above is the visual definition of a "brain bucket."

I love this thread. Someday I hope to take a $5 helmet found off ebay and try to paint the Easy Rider  "Captain America" graphics on it. I have no idea what I am doing, but it still should be a fun project.  Brains and hair? That is for people who know how to paint and airbrush.

I prefer to think of that ^^^^^^ as the Billy Kidd 1970 World Championships Gold Medal winning look. Val Gardena, combined. This was before the cowboy hat!!

Just to frame it up relative to skiing! Great look. Go for it!

Not so sure about the other looks.

Not custom, but apparently desirable. ;-)

DH race at Cathedral, Barlioche, Argentina

Custom helmet paint job I had on my helmet in 1975. It is funny that the sun was inspired by a King Crimson album but it also very closely resembled the Argentine national flag. This picture was taken in Bariloche, Argentina. There was a village around the sides as well.

Europa Cup DH, Tignes, France (December 1977)

Andy Mill (in the background) had a beautiful eagle airbrushed on his helmet. Its the best picture I could find.

and yet, maybe not - helmets are practically ideal for water transfer printing, and you can get your own image put on transfer film:
