Line Supernatural 100 length

Looking at picking up a pair of Supernatural 100's to replace some old Prophet 90's and give me a more hard snow (for CO) alternative to my Sir Francis Bacons.  I ski the Bacon's in 184 on the recommended line (2cm back from center).

I was hoping to get some recommendations on whether to go 179 or 186 for the Supernaturals.  I do not have a problem with the length of the Bacons but was looking for a more nimble ski in hard bumps but I definitely do not want to go short if it skis much less than it measures like the SFB does.

I don't know anything about the bacons but I bought a pair of SN 100's at the end of last year and got about eight days on them. They have so little rocker in the tips and even less in the tails; they skied true to length to me (186 cm). The top sheet started to come off but Line sent me a new pair. If I keep them the only thing I might try differently is perhaps mount 1 cm forward. The tails needed a bit more coaxing to finish the turns for my taste.

I'm curious about the SN 100's as well.  I've seen a number of pretty favorable reviews on them but was wondering about their durability.

Does anyone else have any input in regards to the durability of the Supernaturals? Ie. is the top sheet delam that SquawBrat had just a fluke?

Thanks for the response.  I'm leaning to the 179's since there is much less tip/tail rocker from what you say compared to the SFB.  I had not heard of the delamination issues.  My SFBs have not had any of those issues but maybe they've changed construction methods for the SNs.

They can't ski true to length because Line does not make a ski that is true to the length they advertise.

Not entirely sure what this comment means; historically I've not been a Line fan. My skis are at Tahoe and I'm not but on Blister they have it as a measured 184.6cm on a straight pull which translates well to a 186 ish ski of this shape. I stand by my original comment in that the 186 felt like a 186 ish ski to me.

I had about 10 days on supernatural 100s last season. one of the tails delaminated on me as well. I'm looking at the replacements leaning against the wall in my office. It is my understanding that it was a widespread fault with last seasons model and that it has been addressed.

I also own Bonafides at about the same length and I found them to be a lot more fun , but with my dimensions (6'5" 240#, very aggressive) and how I ski... I think that is to be expected.  Others that I ski with, who are smaller guys, also were on supernatural 100s last year and absolutely love them.

I'm looking to sell these actually... but they are 186... so I think longer than what you are looking for.

I'm sad to hear of the delamination problem.  Did you simply contact Line to remedy the issue?  I picked up a pair in the off season sales 179cm size.  Glad to hear the smaller guys like those as I almost went for last seasons Bonafides instead.

I have a good relationship with the guys at a shop locally, and they sent the skis back to Line for me. Line replaced them at no charge. I'm happy. Good company.

I'm not going to mount these though... I'd rather try out something else... and they're similar to the Bones.

I'm sure you'll have a great time on them.

an additional comment....

none of the other guys that I know skiing on them (3 others) had the same issue. I was the lucky one.
