The foreigner's accent works pretty well. Knew a guy who had a great demo.
He could pull off a good sounding british/liverppool/beatles inspired accent.
Walking in a shop, if he used his usual voice and asked for a pack of smokes, he'd get a polite exchange
of words and his cigs.
When he used the accent and asked for a "packet o' ****, luv" every single gal he tried it on would visibly melt
and become coy. Fun to watch even 50-60 year old ladies revert to teenagers.
I believe it has to do with an impulse towards expanding the local gene pool in the days of small groups and tribes.
