Rossi T-Power 9s VS T-Power Viper (Last year)

Hi Forum!
Been lurking for a bit more than a year now, love the advice.

Anyway, I have an oppertunity to pick up last year's Rossi's at a good value and I need an ice/groomer/bumps ski. I like the shorty slaloms. Last year I demoed a T-Power Cobra and found it a bit too bendy for my size (5'10" 205 lbs) and so I think one of these skis would work nicely. Historically, a race ski is not too stiff for me in a GS, what with my weight, but I have heard the 9s is REALLY stiff.

I do not usually race, if so just for kicks. My style is pretty agressive. I instruct a lot and I think a short ski would be good for this as well, easier to manuver when dealing with beginners. One reason I am apprehensive about the 9s is that i need a good bump ski. My Atomic 9.22 HC is not the world's best for moguls and I think maybe the viper would be better than the race ski for this, but would I overpower it? Also, there are durability issues with Rossis, and I was wondering if the plate helps them keep their "pop" a bit longer.

I have been told that the 9s is basically the viper with a plate and different cosmetics. If I were to get a ski and decide it is too stiff/soft is it possible to add the plate to the Viper or remove it from the 9S? Finally, does the plate add a lot in terms of high speed stability or just in kick in the short turns?

BetaRacer, I'd prolly rather have a 9.12 Race, but even on form it can't touch the price I can get on the Rossis

I had the same dilema last year. I used a friends Cobras a few times and liked them. Also I needed a ski a step down from the F-1 Volkl. I was lucky because the shop had a sale on the S, Viper and Cobra as well as the P-40 sl......... My choice was the P-40 sl simply because it was between the Rossi S and the Viper in terms of flex........ but I'm only 170 pounds (I was looking for 167/170's). At 205 you should be able to flex the S. Oh yeah... the Volkls were $249 vs $349 for the Rossis... so that factor had a bit of influence.
