What's the most inspiring thing you've seen (experienced) on a ski mountain - Page 3

I had an encounter ........... with Divinity. Was hiking side-country solo @11,000 ft when hit by a freakish and sudden snow/thunder/lightning storm. I was inside the proverbial ping pong ball and it was furiously contemplating my immediate destiny. During the hike, the falling snow froze solid in position w/ each glorious yet terrifyingly blinding flash. The roar of thunder was deafening and it was as if my bones and teeth shattered w/ every clap.  My orange fluorescent powder cords came loose and danced against the intense dark sky, from my shouldered skis as the wind sang furiously around me.  I trembled in fear, in absolute awe of the fury surrounding me.......... keep moving........... "movimiento es Vida" (movement is Life) became my mantra......... My soul was so utterly devastated by the scene that I surrendered and wanted to simply, go to sleep. Complete calm came over me as I dropped the cornice, falling... falling into oblivion, finally submerging.......... into chest deep powder. I don't remember the rest of the run although I knew I could feel the electrostatic energy making my skin tingle all over.... it was magical, it was beautiful, it was terrifying........ for me God exists..... all the rest since then..... gravy............

Some rendition of a clearly terrifying sojourn with a glide-path ending, nice, very nice

A little bump for my buddy Sam, there is a two page pictorial/interview in the current SKIING magazine about him. I believe it's the 2016 Gear Guide with the blue lettering.
