Interior actually got one of "Wards 10 Best" when it was introduced.

A lot of the cars on that 100 list aren't so much ugly as just boring or utilitarian.  At some point ugly becomes cute.

When I was a kid in 1963 I crossed the country with my family of six in a Rambler Cross Country station wagon very much like this 1959 model, #49 on the list:

The 1980 Cevy Citation - blech. The sheer lack of anything resembling style makes this look like it was designed with a ruler in study hall by a 14 year old nerd.

Wow, I need to stop checking this thread. First my Datsun B210 is ripped apart, now this. This is what replaced my B210 when the engine blew.

BTW, this thing was a tank in the snow. Drove it for three winters in Buffalo and never got stuck.

I was surprised that the Chrysler Cordoba didn't make the list.

Particularly with this top:

Maybe Ricardo Montalban would unleash the The Wrath of Khan if they included it on the list

or

They had a soft spot for soft Corinthian Leather:

Every time I see this sign on a Forest Service road I can't help but think "No Cordobas"

First car I ever bought new with my own money -- I even thought it was ugly back then but the price was right.

First wife's first new car was a 84 Omni with the 2.2, that car was damn quick, quicker than my 84 GTI but fell apart at 70K, it wasn't so much that it was ugly, but what a POS.

Hey at least yours didn't burn down to the ground (as a result of an oil drip onto the exhaust) in '95.

Yeah, ok, it did last ~10 years, and it had a 2.2 stripe on the hood but still.

Even an Escort Diesel was better looking.

Ours didn't make it to '95...it was gone in 88..for a Subaru Justy 4x4.

I get to see this mess on a regular basis. It is owned by an elderly neighbor.

It is the Aztek's better selling sibling - the Buick Rendezvous.

Yep, if it wasn't for the Aztec, this would be on the list. The grill/front view is just as bad.

I like it. Of course I also liked the Motorhead graphics on the Head skis which most people hated.

I am easy to please, I like Ferrari Enzo :yahoo:

I've owned a string of three Chrysler minivans continually since 1993.  I suppose a lot of people think minivans are ugly vehicles.  But not the Pontiac Transport.  I never had one of these, but envied their beautiful lines, if maybe other aspects were not so practical.  Back in the early '90's this was the bomb of mass produced US minivans:

Yeah, I wouldn't call it beautiful personally.  Nice car..but it has an air of Fiero kit-car about it..  The 458 is much nicer IMHO..

Hated, hated hated these. A la The Griswold Family Sport Truckster, You think they looked bad? Wait till you drive one. The windshields alone were about $1,000 to replace.

Drove both the Lumina and the Trans sport.   Quite a lot actually.   The ex's parents had not one, not two but three of them in a row.   Lighter steering and less understeer than the Chrysler products.  Not as much room inside, true.    But on a tight downhill WVa turn they felt a *lot* better than the Chryslers, as in you didn't /really/ need to ask yourself if the van would stay on the road or launch itself to the outside of the curve.      And one thing GM did absolutely right on those?     The placement of the fog lamps.   I still remember one trip to Snowshoe where the fog was so thick I had to use those and the yellow line just to stay on the road; if they had been any bit off I'd've been in the 300+foot ditch.        In a very similar situation (well, can't say for sure, i was sleeping in back, but it was icing fog somewhere near Fountain PA) the Chrysler did a 360 spin around a semi and smashed into the guardrail treating us to a snootfull and more of airbag fumes.

Irony: they replaced the last Lumina with a Pacifica.

Speaking of fog lights..pet peeves..headlights that stay on when fog lights are engaged..people who drive at night with their fog lights on with cars that also turn on a brake light with the fog lights when there's no fog!!  Are ya braking or not!?!?  It's a ticket in Germany to do that.  People who drive at the speed of traffic with the hazards on in snow storms or rain storms.  Yeah, we get it..it's snowing..don't put the hazards on unless you actually are a hazard!!  Grrr....  You know what really grinds my gears?!?!  :hopmad:  :rotflmao:

If there's an extra switch, they're going to use it. White fog lamps, stupid!

Why are we even talking about the 458 and Enzo in an UGLI thread?     Have you people seriously forgotten the Modulo?
