Coming for a month in Feb 2016, where to stay?! [intermediates going to Colorado]

My GF and I are intermediate snowboarders, we want to rent a place in CO for the month of Feb 2016 to ride as much as possible.  We've only been to CO once, stayed in Frisco and rode in copper, keystone & A-basin (with copper being our definite favorite).  Looking for input on where to stay.  Buying an Epic pass & staying in Frisco is an option but then we'd be 20-25min from any ski area which wouldnt be ideal if we were riding most days (but also have the option of multiple places).  Also found a few rentals right on Copper, but concerned about getting groceries, etc.  We are not sure if we will have a car w/ us or not yet.

What about snowmass or Vail?

Our main concerns are:

 - Ease of getting on the slopes

 - Ease of getting groceries

 - Less lift lines

 - Do not care about night life / apres ski

We would likely be having some friends come and go throughout the month as well.

Any input would be much appreciated!! Thanks.

You need to use http://www.vrbo.com and find a place close to a grocery store and a bus stop.

Summit County CO runs a free bus through town and out to ski areas.

I go to Summit County every February for three weeks.  It's possible to get by without a car, but having one would really make a big difference.  I am able to rent a car for the three weeks for about $500.  A shuttle back and forth to DIA for two would be a significant percentage of that.  If you really want to go without a car, consider a condo right at Keystone or Breck.  Breck has a large City Market right in town.  No large supermarket in Keystone - you have to go to Dillon.

I typically rent a condo in Dillon or Keystone.  Rates are lower than Breck, and convenient to Keystone or A-Basin and Breck is just a short ride over Swan Mountain Road.  VRBO is a good place to look for condos as both private parties and agents post there.

Snowmass. Easy free bus service to the other mountains and to the City Market in Aspen (there is a small grocery in Snowmass Village as well).

It is an extra 2 hour drive from the airport. That drive gets you away from the front range hordes into a very different ski experience. Snowmass and Aspen are excellent intermediate mountains- Highlands a little less so, but all the intermediate stuff is LONG there.

You may want a rental car to get there, but that is not a requirement either.

Snowmass would be really nice, but probably significantly more expensive.

You could rent a car one way and stock up at Costco/Whole Foods on drive up.
