Portland Beer Gathering Thread - Page 2

Alright, my watch says it's beer thirty so anytime is good for me. I need a night out and soon. I look forward to meeting the new member of the Portland Crew.

Rogue, 7:00 Tuesday or Thursday is fine with me.

Count me in, guys.

Does next Tuesday at the Rogue at 7 p.m. work for everyone?

Hey, Maddog! Last time I was at SkiBowl (a weekend morning)I asked a ski patroler if you were on the hill, but he never heard of you. Perhaps you were at T-Line that day? What's your schedule like?

Me too.

Tuesday Feb. 24, 2004 Rogue Public House 7:00 pm.

thanks for a fun GTG. See you at Meadows on Sunday.

It was a good time. Nice to meet you, Sue Brown. And Maddog, you were missed. Next time we will discuss you at length if you don't show up.

Sunday at Meadows bright and early. Channel 5-0, right-o?
5-0 right-o but I can't guarantee early...I'm married.
Nice to meet you all, too. See you Sunday.

Don't worry about it, Ray, that's what the radios are for.

Sorry to miss you guys.

Unplanned family developments derailed anticipated mountain frolic.

I had a blast skiing with you, Ray, Leigh and David! And Sno'more, we missed you.

I was really tired when Ray & Leigh left at 2, so I went inside and sat like a zombie for an hour and a half. Then the clinic I went on was all about steep & deep (for Meadows, anyway) bumps and jump-entry turns (or "leapers"). And it lasted for THREE HOURS! Oh man, was I beat. But it was a great clinic, and the whole day was an "epic" day in my book.

Let's do it again sometime!

Sue- Who was the tech during the clinic? Jerome? He's one of the best. I need to find my books again to study for level II. They're around here somewhere. I hear level II is heavy on the instructional side as well as abilty. I'm still busy over at Cooper Spur... fun little laid-back area, nice family place; looks like something out of the 60's. Runs are not challenging but fun none the less.

Y'all let me know when you get together again. Will try to make it. Met many of you last year... fine skiers all. Bob
post #45 of 82
Nope, it was Rick Lyons with Mambo shadowing him.

I seriously doubt I'll be ready for Level II this year, but definitely next year. I don't want to take it until I really own all the material and techniques. Right now I don't know the material very well, and I ski at "almost Level II but not quite." But I'm working hard on it!

Watch this thread for announcements of our next adventure. Maybe in a couple weeks?

I'll be out of town attending Maggotfest in the Tahoe area. Next week is going to be tight with only a couple of nights open. Maybe ski the next weekend (13th or 14th)and then do beer?
Maggotfest, eh? Rough life!

Did you mean 26th/27th? The 13th is in 3 days.

Looks like I'll be in town this weekend afterall. Meadows on Sunday, anyone?
let me talk to the boss.
I can go. How about channel 8 this time?
So is anybody going?

I'm changing my status to undecided now. I just got home from a brutal day at Meadows. I skied in my new boots all day (3 clinics!), and before I even went out, I slipped on concrete in my new (slippery) boots, and bruised my tailbone. So I'm beat.

But who knows how I'll feel in the morning, though. Here's my cell number: 503 358 8283

sorry to miss you, ended up working all weekend. So much for the good life!

Well, I ended up getting to Meadows around 2:00. My main goal was to get some footage of people skiing to use for movement analysis practice. Got that and went home. My legs were still sore, so I skipped the clinic.

And now you need a beer. Wednesday, anyone?

Of course, if it's snowing, I'm going to skibowl instead.

It's Tuesday now, and to do Wednsday I need to clear it with the Boss, but I am thirsty so let's set a time and place.

Dead Guy down in Northwest at say 6:45, Wednsday March 16?

Any takers?
