Well yes I know it is a little early - but hey we had our first snowfall for the year so here goes...

Any takers for an Oz gathering this season & where/when would suit best or would you like to suggest?

Ant, Gerathlete, Pete, Oz, jdm, cm, skimum???? anybody???
Depends where and unfortunately I'll probably be a late entry as I don't find out what the boss wants me to do until shortly before the time. H-o-w-e-v-e-r, how could I miss an opportunity to share such company Mark me down as a "try if I can, probably yes".

Cheers,

Pete

whats this an Oz gathering ? I don't visit the forum for months and months....and this sort of behaviour starts ??? well bravo ! about bloody time !! yipeeee !!!

I'll definitely try and make it. Anything to escape from a terrible, terrible promise I made to the other half...that if he takes up mtn biking, I'd learn to board. oh dear. what have I gotten myself into ? not the dark side...noooooooo !!! : :

Anyway good to see the epicski gatherings coming to all corners of the globe !

Jane,
Good to see you're alive, just a slight geographic point for you:
Globes don't have corners. That's why you don't fall off the edge on the way to America.

I'm still interested in the gathering, as MFO owes me a beer or ten. No Idea how I'd get there, since most airlines seem to be going down the pan. Maybe I should enlist myself in the navy, get out to the gulf then desert to the Aussie navy, and get a free ride to it. (only drwaback is that an ex of mine is probably on one of your warships in the Gulf, and I'm not sure I would survive more than 24 hours with her...)

Dear Diski, et al,
Usually I just like to watch (or should that be read), but the possibility of an OZ Bears meeting compells a response.

Count me in as the 5th local, subject to the usual constraints i.e. when, where, work, snow the meaning of life, yada yada yada.

Now we need two quad chair seats WOO HOO!!!

Here's to a great season for 03.
You want 2 quad chair seats? Easy! Head to Perisher Blue and ride the 8-pack they're building on Front Valley.
http://www.perisherblue.com.au for pikkies.

Winter is coming. It's only March and already you can feel it, leaves turning yellow, the air is crisp, the sun angle is lower...!

Disski,
I've been surfing for years, but I still haven't worked out why I need to wear a wetsuit to go on-line.

OK - 5 weeks until ski time...

ANY suggestions about when/where?????? c'mon folks - don't expect me to decide - I am the fool who adjusts WORK to fit in SKI time.... - besides I'm a libran & indecisive

You want peak season? August??? or maybe Late July? or spring - early september???

At least can we pin it down that closely....
Count me in if its in NSW. August probably the best bet, and a Saturday is the easiest given other commitments (Masters) on Sundays. OTOH there are also weekdays for several weeks in mid-August depending on oither stuff at Blue Cow.

Disski, aplogies for the delayed reponse but this thread had gone unnoticed until now.

I too hadn't noticed this thread till now, (although I am only a recent edition). I'd be up for an epicSki gathering, again depending on dates etc. I have a slipped disc in my spine so after the cat scan on friday I'm praying the doc doesn't tell me not to ski this season.

Hopefully all goes well and we can fill one of the 8 pac chairs

August is good for me - I will be there every week day as far as I know atm
post #22 of 29
ok anyone interested in a gathering at a Victorian ski field, Hotham perhaps, or if your a Melbournite maybe a quick trip to Buller just reaffirm the fact that it is hard packed and icy man made snow? I have a severe lack of skiing friends and with the snow starting to fall I can feel the urge to get out there.
Oz will be in Jindabloodybyne 7th to 12th July. Junior Meerkats in tow + assorted hangers on. Interskools on the 11th. Skiing PB and\or Thredbow during the week.

Shall we gather or wait until August sometime?

Oz

Jane - I'll be at Buller the last weekend in July... with a heap of other skiers from www.ski.com.au having a lesson on the Friday morning with CM - you are welcome to come along - staying in the lodge CM & his +1 manage - telemarking the next 2 days (well TRYING to) with another instructor friend

I am planning to spend the following week at Falls if my instructor is around

I'll be there Wed-Fri

Edge-catching lesson Oz? I stole my skis from my instructor (with his girlfriends help) & skied them with only a base grind done - still no go re doing it on my own - I think I need help...

Have season pass for Thredbo & PB - so either one works for me..

Pete?? Gerathlete?? etc???

I think Ant is not in the state at present???....

Need warning to wangle a weekend off atm...
Well I'm taking the work Ski Team to Buller for the day tomorrow (20 July) if anyone wants to catch up. Good day for practising edge work methinks.

Will be skiing 2nd & 3rd August in Thredbo for the Corporate Games. Back in Thredbo skiing 18-23rd August would love to hook up with some locals. I don't know Thredbo very well and would like to find the sweet spots.

24th Aug to 1st Sept I'll be in Cragieburn NZ if there are any Kiwis in the thread.

But could be enticed for a quick run to Hotham 26 or 27 July or 9 or 10 August.

As for September...hopefully there'll still be snow.
