Holy crap. I ... wait, you can domesticate wolverines? I don't see how this could possibly go wrong, sending wild animals to go after live meat.

I do not go out looking for fb photos of dogs.  I seem to see fb posts from a lot of ski areas and liftopia pretty much daily and at this time of the  year they seem to show puppies.  I figure it's because they have nothing else to show and they feel they need to keep the social media thing going.

Now it's not just the puppies annoying me - it's all of you!

I would have liked this comment, but I don't think you seem cranky enough yet.

I forgot to mention that the increasing prevalence of avy dogs increases the utility of carrying a piece of avy bacon in your pocket on really big days. Rumor has it that avy bacon cuts the time to be found in half when they let the dogs out ;)

And no problem with batteries, either.

Only if you've been trained.

My dad patrolled for 20+ years. He was on volunteer patrol. There was a small regular staff and mostly volunteers policing the mountain. They got a free ski pass, but there were a lot of other expenses for certifications that were not covered. They did several fundraisers to get better communications (walkie talkies) between the patrollers since the ski area would  not cover the cost.

Henry is a popular avy dog at Vail. The photographer wasn't around when I was with her, but here's another pic.

And Henry has his own twitter feed:

And Vail has their own FB page for their avy dogs:

Along with photos of cute puppies:
