Where to ski next year in Feb Vail or Park City ....

Hi,

I am planing my ski trip for next year. Skied the last 10 years in Vail/BC for 2or3 weeks each, and liked it when we had fresh snow.

Really liked to short lines / hotels / powder snow / US service approach.

Never skied in Utah and since vail resort has bought park city this is a new option for us.

So how is park city compared to vail/bc with amount of people on the mountain , snow, lift lines.

thanks

Juergen

I've never been to PC so i'm sure I'm biased, but I'd head back to CO. I go through the same thing every year in my head and don't think you can beat the option of skiing Vail-BC-Breck-Keystone & ABasin off the same Epic Pass. The varied but relatively close locations to one another almost always means good conditions somewhere.

How far in advance do you need to book?

I believe the plan for this summer is to connect Park City to Canyons which will give the combined area more acres than Vail.  I skied PC a lot as a teen and other than the major holidays, the lines weren't too bad.  It has been 10 years since I skied in Utah, so I am not sure how this combo with PC under the Vail corp umbrella will affect crowds and lift lines.

Feb is typically a good month for snow conditions in both CO & Utah, but luck & timing still play a role.

Do not forget to factor in the dates for the Sundance film festival.
