This video is from the USSA Center of Excellence videos on Dartfish:

This focuses on mogul skiing, but would help any skier.

First, 30 minutes of light skiing or other aerobic activity.

  1. Spiderman walk
  2. High knee marching
  3. Forward/backward Leg swings
  4. Abductor/Adductor swings
  5. Hip flexor lunges
  6. Fast body weight squats
  7. Backwards overhead reach
  8. Glute raises
  9. Lunge with rotation
  10. Sumo squat

Just because it's warm out during spring skiing doesn't mean you can skip the warm up.

I'm sure this would help me a lot. It will be interesting to see if I ever get to a point in my ski life where every lift-running minute in the morning is not too precious to consider using for anything but skiing. As it is I guess this is one more reason to get to the hill really early - so you can do this AND catch first chair.

I discovered, that at my age (late 40s) and after ACL reconstruction, I do much better with a warm-up.

I do too. For sure. Making myself do it, including finding the space on a frigid morning when the lodge is packed and friends are all standing there ready to go? That's a challenge for me.

Maybe you will be at the Gathering next year and can lead us all through it every morning. I'd like that. @Gathermeister, please note!

I think this is a better link for the video mentioned in Post #1:

There are a couple of shorter warm up sequences recommended for racers together with warm up runs.  I can imagine doing the first one, although more likely to do something before getting out on snow.  Assuming booting up in a lodge early in the morning when not many others are around.

You take a run, you do some warmup when you get off the lift. Repeat as necessary.

Won't know until we get a date at that one--guess we'll have to do an EpicSki Mother's Day Weekend warm-up routine!

(Note: Corrected the link in the original post. Thanks, marznc.)
