SkiMD Closed on April 1

Just learned that the Summit Ski shop in Framingham MA closes for the season on 3/31. SkiMD works out of that shop. That seems early, especially bad for me since I had a couple of pairs of  skis I wanted stone ground before the end of the season.

My question is when does SkiMD go back to work so I can take the skis to him in the fall. I read on the Summit website that they re-open 8/1. I am wondering if SkiMD is there that early as well? Anyone know?

If you dig around on his site, I think under menu pricing or mail orders.  I states that he does close the shop but he does however still take mail orders.  You have to email him to set it up.  I'm almost positive he's back in August as well.

I've used them in the old location in early/mid-August, so I am pretty sure they will be around when Summit reopens too. As L&AirC points out, I think you may be able to make arrangements with Mike over the summer via e-mail.

Thanks,

I went to his website and found some info. It says he will be back at work starting on Aug 1st. At this point I have no problem waiting till then for a couple of grinds. Wanted to do it early April while I was still skiing, but I am probably done for the season now.

Yes, Mike "closes" when the shop does on April 1st. If you catch him in early April, he may be willing to go in and tune the ski, but you will probably have to drop off / pick up at his house or mail it to him. After that, he shuts down the grinding equipment for cleaning, repairs, upgrades, etc for a while. He is back up around August. The best time to get the work done is Aug - Sept. Once the temp starts to drop, he is crazy busy until March. He always is in high demand, but totally worth it when you see and ski on the result.
