Atomic X bindings vs Atomic FIS skis from different years compatibility

Thread Starter

Hello,

I just got the info from the Atomic importer that Atomic X20 bindings from 2011/12 will not fit the Atomic FIS GS RS DD 3.0 191/27 ski from 2014/15 & 2015/16 year.

Is this true or is he just trying to sell me also the new bindings together with new skis?

Are the older X bindings (16,18,19 % 20) compatible with the newer FIS models?

There are some differences in the toe mount of the earlier .X series. They do not have the center screw hole that the later ones do, they have 4 holes. Iirc the new ones have 5 holes in the toe mount and the new plates only take 3 screws. It might be some variation around this but I have come across this. look at the toe mount on the plates on the ski. IIRC all the new slaloms from 2013 on only take the 3 screws so the older bindings (or more correctly just the toe chassis) will not fit. I think the GS plate retained the 4 screw mount for a couple of years but I seem to remember that it also changed with the 2014 ski (as i found out when I tried to mount an older binding) Take a look at the ski you are buying.
