With the crummy winter across significant parts of the west there must be some good season-ending sales going down for all of the gear nobody was buying during the season.
What have you guys found online?
I'm not seeing half as much now as I was in the second week of February.
IMO waiting until tax return season to shop has become a losing tactic over the last ~6 years as shops have severely reduced initial inventory.
I kind of think you are correct as well. Shops just don't seem to carry as much merchandise like they did before the recession. That at least helps them avoid being stuck with a ton of gear.
I personally have not seen very much that was outstanding so I didn't provide any links.
You can get CH5 at almost halfsie for the kilo:
I bought a new pair of Volkl Kinks for my son at $249, buy it now. You just have to look for the deals.
Thus far I haven't seen anything great online besides the Start Haus sale. Locally in New Hampshire I know of a couple of shops that have been at half-off for a few weeks now. My wife picked up some boots this weekend. I am trying hard not to go buy new skis too.
More demo/used packages are showing up now on Ebay. Gotta pick through the abused ones though, you might find the odd gem. For new, Dawg doesn't have much left, Start Haus is probably clearing stuff. Asogear on Ebay (online clearance store for Corbett's in Ontario) has blowouts on lots of stuff. BTW, for any Ontarians, Corbett's (in Oakville) has lots of clearance items NOT listed on their website. Some pretty good stuff too, email them directly or go to their store.
I don't need high fluoros, so all good. Thanks, Tog!
Check the European eBay sites.
Google Translate is kludgey, but it works good enough. Email them in English, and you'll get a good English language response.
I've found some real bargains. They have a very high value added tax (sales tax) that is not charged to foreign sales. That covers the air freight. There is no customs duty, but there might be a minor customs clearance charge.
check Canadian shops (basically with the exchange you"re getting another 20% off) i know in my territory there are/were a bunch of sales going on
if anyone needs a 14/15 185 LaNina i could work out a pretty good price (one of my stores ordered them by mistake and now they sit in my garage)
action sports outlet is probably biggest
sundance in edmonton
monods in banff
mountaincultures in calgary
all have good online sales sites
me, i would do a dealer search for whatever brand you are looking for and call them direct, for the vast majority of canuck dealers the internet is still a mystery (seriously it pains me to say that)
Dayum... 186 BillyGoats for $479... http://nextadventure.net/on3p-billy-goat-skis-2015.html
Someone should jump on that. That site has a TON of good skis in good sizes for sale...
