I've got the SR95's love them.... a buddy wants a set but doesn't want to pay the entry cost... we found a set of the 13/14 Vxl's for less than 1/2 retail.... whats the big difference... performance wise... he's got a set of 105's lines , underfoot  for the fresh powder days .. wants a bump, tree, all eastern mountain ski ..

The VXL is actually a better east coast ski than your SR95's so I would say go for it!

It's narrower, has traditional camber, is a bit beefier in flex, has phenolic sidewalls vs ABS sidewalls. Basically it's more 'wide GS ski' and less 'modern all-mountain ski'. The VXL is a great ski, but it will be a bit more ski to deal with in east coast trees and bumps.
