Well, the other issue is that VW is just not big in this area. So the dealership has no pull. They get what they get. Subaru? Huge. Ford? Huge. But we don't even have Volvo, BMW, Mercedes. (This was the same issue of having to find it, not build it, that I had in New Jersey at Audi and they were a big dealership.) Given the real lack of variety in what can be "ordered", I'm not sure this is a problem. We'll see. But 3 trims x 4 interiors x 7 colors x 2 transmissions, especially since the color is not huge with me (except no white), doesn't seem impossible. They may have to truck it from Seattle, though. They already know they have to wait months as the manual won't be available until February. And I told them an advance deposit was not an issue. So can't imagine what they would gain by making up an issue that didn't exist. They know that if I decide to consider an automatic, that I'll be looking at Subaru, too, so they're not trying to talk me into an automatic.
