Here's a new angle; some might agree, some may not but here it goes.
Took the Rossignol Pursuit 16 out again today. They also had the Rossignol Pursuit HP so I took that out as well. I literally skied both for 4 hours, 2 runs one, 3 runs the other, back and forth for 4 hours. Conditions were ideal for these skis today; very hard packed with ice here and there. I liked the 16s just like last time, so easy to maneuver and quick edge to edge. It took me a few minutes to truly dig the HP as its heavier and not quite as turney. However, once I get into the run holy moley. The HP had me feeling like I was glued to the snow, edge to edge was a second longer I think cause its heavier and wider but a big wow. When I took the 16s out again they felt way lighter and now and at times a little floppy. Back to the HPs I go. These skis are solid, solid, solid. Between these two skis I probably got 12 runs in by the time it softened up and it was Kenja time. I am a little scared of the label expert thats tied to the HPs and the 16s are more intermediate to advanced. However, the HPs were just so solid and after a few minutes I had a lovely groove going and just had so much fun. I passed people again today. These Rossi skis really have my number dialed. Perhaps I shouldn't pay attention to the labels at all as I think I favored the HPs more. I am done demoing frontside skis so its just a matter of picking the 16s or the HPs. I loved the fact that the HP are 81 underfoot, just stuck to the snow like crazy glue, had me linking turns like noones business.
Thinking I'll get the HPs and then get something wider to replace my Kenjas, maybe the new Kenjas, maybe the Atomic Vantage. I have a master hard snow performer with the HP so have little more options now with my all mountain ski. Although I love how the Kenja can handle everything so when things will be mixed that's my ski but thinking since I will the master hard pack performer of the HP I don't need a double wood ski with metal like the kenja as my all mountain and I can get something wider but just as versatile.
I haven't bought anything yet so it'll either be the 16 or the HP.
