^^So what did you learn about growing a pole plant?
It's mystiying why the notion of not planting a pole at speed is an issue. Do people go around at 40 mph sticking their arm out of a car to put a newspaper in the mailbox?
No, they throw it out tbe window onto the driveway. In skiing you just keep holding the pole facing backwards and touch the ground. It's not complicated.
Do you teach this "throw the newspaper on the driveway" drill to your students? If so, in what phase of the turn do you wind up and which phase do you throw? How do you compensate for balance and rotary throughout the turn? Have you compensated for the disruption to CoM on the throw's follow through? I mean ... exactly how fast are we skiing by the driveway, how wide and deep is the driveway and is the newspaper rolled or folded, how big/how heavy? Where are you going to find a ski slope with driveways lined up and down the sides?
I'm not so sure this made up idea of a ski drill for pole planting while skiing fast is really going to work very well.
