Fernie, the mythical resort of legendary powder is having their worst season in 50 years. Snow at the top was still OK but had to ski through water puddles, mud, ice, rocks and sticks at the mid and lower parts of the mountain. Best snow was off the White Pass chair and Snake Ridge.
Much of Lake Louise was solid ice. Have never skied so many icy moguls. The endless mogul field on the back side was OK by afternoon. The back side of lake Louise reminds me a lot of Vail; has some nice terrain if the conditions were decent.
Sushine Village by far had the best snow out of the three being at the highest elevation. We got some fresh snow there, snowing on most of the mountain but raining at the bottom of the Gondola. Goat's Mountain has some reasonably challenging terrain. Snow was best in the trees off Waa Waa chair.
