Working in a US ski resort... [UK passport, for a season, any job]

Not sure if this is a suitable forum but couldn't see a better one.

Does anyone know if it is even remotely possible for a UK passport holder to work for a season in a US ski resort, or how I might look into it further?

Thanks!

Might to worth starting a thread in Ski Instruction because more instruction pay attention to that forum.  Good to put a little more into the thread title for people who scan titles to decide which threads to read.

It will vary by resort. For Whitefish:

International Applicants

If you are an International Applicant, please note that we only accept J1 visas for the US. We do not accept H2B visas. The visa must be arranged by the applicant.

Whitefish Mountain Resort works in cooperation with Intrax Work Travel. Please visit their website at www.intraxworktravel.com for more information on how to apply to work for Whitefish Mountain Resort.

That link may be just what you are looking for.

Thanks - can't work out if possible to edit the title. Was not looking for instruction work, just general jobs (lifts, office, hospitality etc).

Thanks - but sadly no longer a student!

I'm guessing you'll have an easier time of it at the Canadian resorts.

Aah . . . that's different.  I'll add something to the thread title for you.

I know there are young adults from Europe who work at Wintergreen in Virginia.  But I doubt that's of much interest if you are any sort of a skier.  Place is tiny.

if no luck with US try a Canadian resort most of the liftees and hotel staff at our ski areas are from overseas with short term work visas.

We have UK citizens working At Squaw/Alpine(KSL) this year, KSL takes care of the visa H2B usually

We had a rough year here though, KSL cut hours so make sure you have some money

Living costs are expensive, housing tight, pay is low

Make sure you can last the season

We lost most of the Aussies years ago who used to come over every year. Vermont changed the rules. I guess they stopped allowing H2B visas. This year we had a number of Chilean students who had to leave a couple of weeks ago to go back to school.

Thanks for the replies. Looks to be what I'd feared but maybe a possibility in California. Canada would definitely be easier.

I'm fine for money for a season, just the paperwork which would cause me a problem!
