Greetings from Gamehenge! ;)
Fischer makes some great race skis. I assume you are intending to use this as a dual event (SL/GS) ski for your daughter? Can't go wrong IMO. Just make sure they are in decent shape -- no major base/edge damage, some edge left to keep sharp, no major damage to the bindings/brakes etc. Get them adjusted/tested with your daughter's boot to ensure the binding is indeed working properly.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the validation. They look to be in great shape. Have race plates so the bindings can be adjusted if needed.
My plan would be for her to use them as a combo GS/SL ski. Not sure if she is ready for dedicated skis yet.
Good for a combo ski, but if I remember correctly, not a sidewall/sintered base race ski.
The RC4 "race" is not unlike other junior skis (soft, foam core, extrudes base, etc) other than the "race" topsheet.
For an actual race construction ski, you'd be looking at the RC4 Superior. In the jr. spec they have no metal, but are full sidewall, real deal sandwich construction race skis with actual race plates. (and of course have a price point that coincides with that as well)
Don't think the RC4 "race" is actually on race plates, more of a rail system for binding adjustment.
As long as they are not too long, and she can flex them, they should be ok. If you are looking to get a true race ski, the Superior model is the one you want.
You can go to the Fischer website and look up the difference. (the Race Jr. is not listed under their Junior race line for a reason).
This will be her 2nd year of racing, not sure if she ready for a true race ski yet. I was looking for 130 cm skis to match her height and these were available through a parent in our JDT program. I know they don't normally come with race plates, but these have them and Fischer FJ7 bindings mounted on them.
