Holidays at Snowbasin or Brighton or ??

We've been at Park City for the last 8 years for Christmas and New Years and unfortunately have to switch. With 3 young teenagers the epic pass for all 5 of us is around $4000 and pushes the affordability out of our range. Plus, thats a lot of money to spend for a little over a week in skiing :O   I know its a deal for adults who can move around, but a family with teenage kids...not at all.. Residence are cheaper, but out of state people are not :(

So with that said, we are thinking about going to Brighton or Snowbasin. We have been used to the convenience of staying at the base of PCMR in a VRBO condo over the years and would love to do that again somewhere else, although not completely necessary. (a couple years we stayed in Murray and did Snowbird)  What are some good family friendly resorts within close range to SLC and have condo's or etc. near the slopes? I've heard a lot about Snowbasin but never been, my wife loves Brighton but I've always steered towards vacations at PC with a day or two at Snowbird... Any thoughts?

The Epic 7-day passes are currently $579 each, which wouldn't add to $4k, but also doesn't give you any flexibility for more than 7 days.

Snowbasin is fun, but there's no on-mountain lodging. There are plenty of VRBO condos in Eden, Huntsville, and the surrounding area, but you'd still need to drive every day. There are condos at all the other Utah areas, but none of them have anywhere near as many as Park City, nor are any of the other towns as nice as Park City. Brian Head is probably next most built up... and actually might be a good choice for at least part of the trip if you're driving.

Have you looked at the lodging options at Solitude?  Not a town like being in Park City, but would have ski in/out at Solitude, with Brighton just up the road.  Would not get nearly as crowded as PCMR/Canyons.

The issue with Snowbasin for Christmas is how much is open that early in the season.  It's a great place with good snow but doesn't get nearly as much as LCC/BCC given the location and lower altitude.

If you are mainly looking for lots of skiing and don't need much else, consider Grand Targhee.
