In just 18 hours on Thursday, the village received 100.8 inches (8′ 4″) of snow, likely setting the all-time mark for most snow in 24 hours

:eek

The town is apparently in the mountains and is used to copious amounts of snowfall, so I assume there's a ski area nearby...  Anyone know for sure?

At any rate, Tahoe locals should probably be heading to Italy for snow-dance lessons.

Capracotta has a ski area apparently (not sure if open).  Tahoe needs one of these dumps.  They deserve it.

They are on the south edge of the Gran Sasso massif, a primo hang gliding and gliding area but not one known for ski resorts.

Capracotta is at 1350 m and has I x chair and 1 x baby button. serving a couple of runs.
