Maybe my eyes are decieved but the tip looks different than my 2012/13 version. I hope to know for sure tomorrow! I have the white top sheet with red and black. There's basically no tip rocker in the ski, and a fair amount of camber under foot. Blister did a really good write up on that iteration of the BigStix 110. IMO, it's just a really wide carver ski, that does okay in up to a foot of powder. It slays soft moguls as well as any ski 10mm narrower. But when in powder, you have to ski it centered, and if the snow is heavy or more than a foot or so, I find, I have to shift my weight back just a tad. I have the old school ski technique and tend to pressure the tips. This technique works very well on groomers, or light accumulation but not so well as the snow piles up.
I do like the medium overall flex of the ski. There's very little tip flap. The ski is not a charger but not a noodle either. But I did find myself getting tossed forward in variable snow conditions with some tip dive when you encounter wind drifts, and crud. Something a bit more tip rocker would mitigate.
So, I'm hoping that Fischer did two things to the 2016 model.
#1 Took out a bit of the camber under foot.
#2 Added some tip rocker. (Because, there really isn't any to speak of in my pair.)
