Atomic Ritual vs K2 Shreditor 102 vs Völkl Mantra

Hi guys,

I'm looking for an every day ski. Right now I ride the 2012 K2 Kung Fujas. I love that Ski! It's playful, it likes Powder and Crud, goes well in the park and carves well on soft snow. But it lacks grip on firm snow.

What I am looking for:

An all-mountain / big mountain twin tip, that is playful in all offpiste terrains, but stable when rocking firm groomers with full speed. So I basically want a Kung Fujas with a little more stability when charging groomers.

That's me:

  • 28, male, 5'7", 150 pounds
  • Skiing for 25 years / advanced - expert level
  • I ski everything between groomers and backcountry. I love hitting every natural bumb, bowl and drop and play around with the terrain, but also going very aggressive on firm snow. Here and then I go in the park for some box sliding and do some 360s on small to midsize kickers – but I am not that advanced when it comes to park skiing.

Which ski do you think is the best for me?

  • Atomic Vantage Ritual
  • K2 Shreditor 102
  • Völkl Mantra

Thx for your support,

Welcome to EpicSki. I'm just your size and the Ritual is my deep snow ski. I like it, but it isn't great on hard snow. I suggest you consider the Nordica Soul Rider, 97mm, twin tip, carves better than the Ritual, playful and just plain fun to ski. The 177 is just right for me. I'm probably going to replace the Ritual with a Soul Rider next season and get a fatter deep snow ski.

Hi mtcyclist,

thanks for your reply. That's sad. I was hoping the Ritual would have a better onpiste performance =(. Do you ski an everyday ski that long? my kung fujas are 170 and it's just fine ...

The Ritual is excellent on hard pack... the Soul Rider is your ski though...
